The City watch presents a balanced, polished profile through its gold plated stainless steel case and coordinated gold textured dial. The design is elevated by the engraved check pattern on the stainless steel bracelet, giving the watch a recognisable Burberry-inspired finish without compromising the clarity of the traditional three-hand layout. The 38mm case size offers a considered unisex proportion, while the combination of gold plating and stainless steel creates a cohesive look from the case through to the bracelet.

Dial & Display

The gold textured dial provides visual depth and complements the warm tone of the case and bracelet. Luminous stainless steel hands and stick indexes support legibility, including in lower-light conditions. A date window positioned at 3 o’clock adds everyday practicality while preserving the clean, structured appearance of the dial. The watch is protected by scratch-resistant mineral crystal.

Movement & Functions

At the heart of the BU9039 is a Swiss Made quartz three-hand movement. The movement drives the hours, minutes, and seconds hands and includes a date function. Quartz operation suits the watch’s straightforward, dependable presentation, while the clearly arranged dial makes the principal time display easy to read.

Case, Bracelet & Clasp

The 38mm case is made from stainless steel with gold plating, creating the watch’s distinctive gold-tone exterior. With a 20mm lug width, it is paired with a stainless steel bracelet featuring Burberry’s engraved check detailing. The bracelet closes with a push-button butterfly clasp, providing a neat, integrated finish to the wristwear design.

Water Resistance

The Burberry The City BU9039 is water resistant to 50 metres, equivalent to 5 ATM.
